Empty Groups List

First off I would like to thank you for you contribution to the dev community your efforts show in a fine product.
I deployed this feature in our test site and it worked fine. I overcam any minor issue that came up. When I deployed it in our live site I ran into an empty group list. Obviously when the group list is empty a user cannot be added without error. The user does get added but a zero index error comes up. Can anyone tell me why the group list is empty ? I removed and redeployed the site just for good measures but still no avail. I have SQL traces and can tell the exact line thats failing.A read of Sec_SiteGroupsView occurs in my test env but never in the live.
